Alexander Golovin is set to leave AS Monaco and return to Russia in the coming days, despite the transfer window closing in France. This move comes as the club seeks to reduce its wage bill and comply with the regulations of the National Directorate of Control and Management.

According to "Foot Mercato", the Russian attacking midfielder, who joined AS Monaco in 2018, is attracting interest from Zenit Saint Petersburg and Spartak Moscow, who can complete the deal by September 10, the deadline for the transfer window in the Premier Liga.

The same source indicated that there are negotiations between AS Monaco and Zenit, alongside interest from Saudi clubs, with Golovin valued at €25 million.

The departure of the player represents an opportunity for AS Monaco to reduce their wage bill, especially since Golovin is one of the highest earners in the team. This comes after the loan of Thilo Kehrer to Ajax, while negotiations for Pape Cabral's transfer to Al-Ahli for €10 million are nearing conclusion.

In contrast, data indicates that Hicham Boudaoui, a player for Nice, will join AS Monaco as a backup player to compensate for these departures.
