FC Barcelona have begun preparations for their match against Valencia, scheduled for Sunday, after the team enjoyed two days of rest following three consecutive victories that have seen them top the league table with 9 points.

Spanish newspaper "Sport" reported that Barcelona's training on Thursday saw the return of Gavi to group training, after recovering from the bruise he sustained on his right leg during the match against Elche in the first round, alongside Gabriel Jesus participating for the first time with his teammates.

Gabriel Jesus arrived at FC Barcelona on Monday, ahead of his official presentation on Tuesday and signing a contract for three seasons. He is expected to integrate quickly and be available for Hans Flick.

Gavi missed matches against Athletic Bilbao and Rayo Vallecano, but he could return to FC Barcelona's squad against Valencia if the upcoming training sessions go well, given his importance to Flick due to his energy and versatility.

With Gavi's return, Frenkie de Jong is now the only player on the injury list as he continues his conservative treatment for a knee injury sustained during the FIFA World Cup 2026, with no return date set.

As Rodri is gradually regaining his rhythm, Marc Bernal is delivering impressive performances in the pivot position.
