Alvarez decides to stay with Atlético

Julián Alvarez has decided to continue with Atlético until the next winter transfer window, after his attempts to move to FC Barcelona during the summer transfer window were unsuccessful.

According to the Spanish newspaper "Sport", Julián Alvarez has informed Mateo Alemany of his decision to stay with Atlético, despite receiving several offers during the summer, the most notable being from Arsenal, and his clear desire to move to FC Barcelona.

Julián Alvarez has expressed his desire to leave Atlético during the FIFA World Cup this summer, stating that it is best for everyone to move on and that he wants to achieve his dream of playing for FC Barcelona.

However, Atlético have maintained their position against the striker's move to the Catalan club, a stance confirmed by the club's major shareholder, Gil Marín, who emphasized that Alvarez will not be transferring to FC Barcelona.

In contrast, Atlético's management have tried to push the player towards a move to a Premier League club, in order to get rid of a player who may face issues during the season due to his lack of enthusiasm to continue in Diego Simeone's project after his dream of moving to FC Barcelona fell through.

Despite this, Julián Alvarez has held on to his contract with Atlético and refused to move to another destination, meaning the summer transfer window has ended with him staying with the team until January, while he continues to aspire to achieve his dream of moving to FC Barcelona in the future.
