Moataz Gamal: I apologize to Zamalek fans for the performance, the important thing is to secure three points

Zamalek SC's coach Mo'tamed Gamal has apologised to the fans for the team's performance in the first half against Suez Petroleum during today's Egyptian League match, emphasising that the most important thing is to secure the three points.

Zamalek SC won against Petrojet 2-1 on Monday evening in a match played in the third round of the Egyptian League.

Ma'tamed Gamal said in the press conference after the match: "I apologise to Zamalek SC fans for the level we showed in the first half, as we had a very poor half, perhaps the worst for us in recent times, and I know the reason behind that, but I prefer not to talk about it at this time."

He added: "For the big teams, the most important thing is always to achieve victory, and we were the better side in the second half after I spoke with the players at half-time. We also made some changes that helped improve our performance, and our focus became greater. In the end, the most important thing for me was to secure the three points, and that is what we strive to achieve."

He added: "We study the opponent's system and style of play before each match, and I don't like to talk too much about the opponents, but they played the match in their usual way, and we managed to exploit the opportunities and spaces that appeared in front of us."

Zamalek SC's manager pointed out that he urged his players to act quickly with the ball and to move well without it, saying: "I asked the players to act quickly with the ball, as well as to move without the ball, because that helps the team to perform better."

The coach explained: "In our first match of the Egyptian League, we had a good first half, but we performed poorly in the second half. Therefore, we worked on correcting this issue, and having a strong bench contributed to the team's good performance in the second half of the last two matches."

Regarding Abdullah El-Said's participation in the match, Mo'tamed Gamal said: "I decided to bring on Abdullah El-Said at the end of the match to maintain control of the midfield; he is a great player, and his presence is very important for the team."
