Nassreddine Nabi reveals reasons for his sudden departure from Raja

Nassereddine Nabi, the Tunisian coach of Raja Casablanca, has disclosed the reasons that led him to request his departure from the team just days before the start of the 2026-2027 football season, confirming that a disagreement in viewpoints with the sporting director was behind his decision to withdraw.

Nabi explained that he has given everything he has in recent times to lead Raja towards achieving its goals and making its fans happy, noting that his desire was to return the team to the podiums of victory.

The Tunisian coach said: "I am a coach who works sincerely, and God knows that I have done everything in my power in the past period. I am hopeful to bring joy to the fans of the green team and return to the podiums of victory."

Naby has indicated that the disagreement with the sporting director was not related to trivial matters, explaining that he informed the club's management of a significant difference in visions between the two parties, especially regarding signings and the players chosen during the transfer window.

He added: "I informed the management of Raja that there is a significant difference in viewpoints between me and the sporting director, and this has not been taken into consideration. Therefore, I cannot work in conditions that I am not satisfied with and with players I did not agree with in the transfer window."

The Tunisian coach also responded to accusations that he wanted to work with a certain company during the transfer period, asserting that these claims are unfounded and challenging anyone with evidence to present it to the public.

He stated in this regard: "It pains me greatly that there are those who say I want to deal with a certain company in the transfer market. I tell them: if anyone has one piece of evidence on this matter, let them bring it to light. This is not true."

Naby explained that his choices in the transfer market were linked to his desire to bring in players capable of adding value and fitting into his style, noting that several names he suggested were not signed, before later moving to big clubs for larger sums.

The Tunisian coach concluded his statements by confirming that he does not wish to engage in conflicts, and that the decision to withdraw came as a result of his desire not to bear responsibility for choices he did not participate in making.

He confirmed: "I am not one of those coaches who attack people; I understand the difference in opinions with the sporting director, and I saw that withdrawing was the best option so that I wouldn't be responsible for things I didn't choose. I wish good luck to Raja and its fans next season."
