Reports have revealed that representatives of Argentine forward Julian Alvarez, currently with Atletico Madrid, have put forward an intriguing idea during negotiations with Arsenal. The proposal includes a clause that would allow the player to transfer to Barcelona in the future, should his move to the English club be finalized.

This comes amid ongoing uncertainty regarding the future of Alvaro Alvarez, who has missed Atletico Madrid training since Wednesday due to illness, coinciding with the club's board issuing a statement confirming there is no intention to sell the Argentine forward to Barcelona.

Joan Laporta, the president of Barcelona, has reiterated the Catalan club's determination to sign Alvarez before the transfer window closes. Barcelona made a €100 million offer in June, but Atletico Madrid has stood firm in its refusal to sell the player to a direct rival in La Liga.

According to the information received, Arsenal has become the only serious option outside Spain for Alvarez at this time, after Paris Saint-Germain expressed interest in the striker earlier this summer before strengthening their attack. The idea of the player returning to Manchester City has also been ruled out.

Last week, a meeting took place between officials from Atletico Madrid and Arsenal in London, where Mateo Alemany, the sporting director of the Spanish club, was part of the Atletico delegation that met with current Arsenal sporting director, Andrea Berta.

During those discussions, the situation regarding Alvarez was addressed, and Atletico Madrid informed their English counterparts that a fee of €150 million would theoretically be enough to agree to the departure of the Argentine forward.

The two parties also discussed the possibility of including some Arsenal players in a swap deal, with Atletico showing interest in several members of the London squad, including Gabriel Jesus and Viktor Gyökeres.

According to the report, Alvarez's camp proposed during negotiations with Arsenal the possibility of including a future clause or a special contractual mechanism with Barcelona, allowing the striker to leave for the Catalan club at a later stage.

Arsenal is expected to ensure its financial interests are protected if a proposal for Alvarez is approved, especially since the club will need to invest a significant amount to secure his services. Therefore, they will demand a greater return than the original deal value if the clause is activated in the future.

With the transfer window closing soon, Julian Alvarez's future is open to all possibilities. Atletico Madrid is determined to keep him and refuses to sell to Barcelona, while Arsenal represents the most serious alternative outside Spain. Meanwhile, the player's dream of moving to Barcelona remains strong.
