Argentina FA Appeals FIFA Sanctions Following World Cup Final Incident

The Argentine Football Federation is preparing to take official action against the sanctions imposed by FIFA on several players of the national team and members of the coaching staff, following the events that occurred during the 2026 World Cup final against Spain.

The Argentine Football Association believes that the sanctions imposed on its players are excessive, particularly regarding Paredes and Molina. As a result, they intend to file an appeal with FIFA's Appeals Committee, with the possibility of escalating the case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) if a satisfactory outcome is not reached.

These efforts come in an attempt to reduce the duration of the sanctions imposed on national team players, given their potential impact on their international appearances in the upcoming period.
