Nottingham Forest Rejects Tottenham's Bid for Nico Williams

Nottingham Forest is holding firm on keeping Welsh full-back Nico Williams during the summer transfer window, despite late interest from Tottenham Hotspur, according to BBC reports.

According to the report, Tottenham's interest in the 25-year-old player remains in the exploratory stage, but sources close to Forest confirm that the club has no intention of considering any offers to sell Williams this summer.

Williams is considered a vital component of Nottingham Forest's lineup, having played a significant role last season. He is expected to be an integral part of the plans of new manager Oliver Glasner.

Nottingham Forest is currently in negotiations with the player, whose contract runs until the summer of 2029, to extend the agreement and improve his terms to reflect his importance to the team.

Tottenham's interest in Williams comes after the departure of Djed Spence to Inter Milan, as the London club seeks to sign a new full-back with flexibility and experience in the Premier League.

Williams can play on both wings, although his primary position is left-back. He has also played over 150 matches in the Premier League.

Tottenham currently has options on the left side, most notably Destiny Udogie, Andy Robertson, and Ben Davies. Meanwhile, Pedro Porro occupies the right-back position with no direct competition.

Tottenham is eager to secure the signing of a versatile young full-back before the transfer market closes on September 1.
