Sassuolo Makes Official Move for Napoli's Walid Cheddira
Sassuolo has made an official offer to Napoli for the signing of Moroccan striker Walid Cheddira, in a serious move to secure the player's future in the final days of the transfer window. Italian journalist Nicolo Schira confirmed that the offer has reached the southern club.
Sassuolo's move comes after Shadira became one of the players Napoli is looking to offload this summer, as the Moroccan forward is not part of the club's plans for the new season, while Napoli's management seeks a suitable solution for his future.
Shadira is drawing interest from a number of clubs, most notably Frosinone and Monza, while Turkish side Rizespor has also shown interest. However, Sassuolo's official bid gives them the upper hand in the race to sign the player.
Sassuolo's urgency is increasing as Andrea Pinamonti approaches a transfer to Lazio, which may prompt the club to expedite a deal for a striker to compensate for the departure of their forward and strengthen the attack before the transfer window closes.
