Gasperini Ahead of Fiorentina Clash: We Start from Scratch and Must Focus on Our Path

Gian Piero Gasperini, the head coach of Roma, confirmed that his team enters the new season with great ambitions, but stressed the importance of not dwelling on last season's results and focusing on the match against Fiorentina in the opening of Serie A.

Gasperini stated: "Every year we start from scratch. What we achieved last season was positive, but now we have zero points, and we have to earn everything again. We must focus on ourselves and our path."

Speaking about the upcoming match against Fiorentina, he stated: "We need to start thinking about Fiorentina, as they have done a lot in the transfer market. We need the motivation and desire to build on what we achieved last season. There are teams like Fiorentina doing important things, and that’s part of their nature, so we need to focus on our capabilities."

Regarding his team's readiness, the coach stated: "Our starting lineup has become clearer, and we are trying to make the squad more competitive with players who can add real value. I am very happy with the players who have arrived, and most importantly, they genuinely wanted to play for Roma."

Gasperini spoke about the transfer market, stating: "Numerically, we still need players to complete the roster, and we have two vacant spots. We have ten more days ahead of us, and we hope to finalize everything. We don't want to sign players just to add to the squad; we need useful elements who want to play for Roma."

Regarding the possibility of competing for the Serie A title, he said: "We also need to see what the other teams will do. We want to follow our path and give our best with the resources available. I am convinced that we will have a good season."
