Arteta Moves Closer to Signing Alvarez After New Talks

Argentine striker Julián Álvarez of Atlético Madrid has become more open to a move to Arsenal during the current transfer window, following talks with the English team's manager, Mikel Arteta.

According to Spanish newspaper "AS," as reported by the "Evening Standard," Julian Alvarez has become more receptive to the idea of moving to Arsenal, despite also being linked with interest from Barcelona, particularly with his growing desire to leave Atletico Madrid.

Arsenal is searching for a prominent striker after failing to secure Vinicius Junior, and sees Alvarez as a suitable option to bolster their attacking line, especially given that Viktor Gyökeres has not fully delivered the expected level, despite scoring 21 goals last season.

Alvarez has expressed a desire to move to Barcelona, but Atletico Madrid appears determined not to sell their striker to a rival in La Liga, which could give Arsenal a greater chance to complete the deal.

If Alvarez arrives, Jovic may face an unclear future at Arsenal, having remained on the bench during the 3-0 victory over Coventry City, while Kai Havertz started in the first two matches of the season.

Kai Havertz can play in the second striker position, which may allow him to stay at Arsenal with Julian Alvarez's arrival. Meanwhile, Viktor Gyökeres could become a candidate to leave Arsenal if the deal goes through.
