Luis Suarez Set for Uruguay National Team Return

Uruguayan star Luis Suarez, forward for Inter Miami, is nearing a return to the Uruguay national team, as reports reveal coach Diego Forlan's intention to call him up during the upcoming international break in September.

According to reports, Forlán intends to bring Suárez back into the national team ahead of the friendly matches against Japan and South Korea, as part of the 'Celeste's' preparations for upcoming challenges.

Suárez announced his retirement from international play in September 2024, having played his last match for Uruguay against Paraguay on September 6 of the same year. The encounter ended in a goalless draw in the World Cup qualifiers.

Suárez boasts an exceptional record with his national team, having played 143 international matches and scored 69 goals, making him Uruguay's all-time leading scorer.

The idea of Luis Suárez's return, known as 'El Pistolero', is gaining special attention, especially considering his relationship with Forlán, who was once his teammate in the national team before taking on the role of coaching Uruguay.
