Arsenal Signs Ezri Konsa from Aston Villa

English club Arsenal announced on Friday that they have officially signed English international defender Ezri Konsa from Aston Villa on a long-term deal, marking a new move to strengthen the team's backline.

Ezri Konsa is 28 years old and began his professional career with Charlton Athletic in 2016, before moving to Brentford in 2018. He then arrived at Aston Villa in 2019, where he has spent the last seven years, participating in over 200 matches in the Premier League across various competitions.

Konsa is known for his ability to play both as a center-back and as a right-back, providing Arsenal with additional flexibility in the back line.

On the international stage, Konsa began his career with England's youth teams before making his senior debut in 2023. He also represented the Three Lions in the UEFA Euro 2024 and the 2026 World Cup.

Andrea Bertt, Arsenal's sporting director, stated: "We are pleased to complete the signing of Ezri Konsa. He is a high-quality defender, and his physical abilities, calmness, and tactical intelligence have proven him to be one of the most consistent defenders in the Premier League."

Berta added that Konsa's ability to play both center-back and right-back will provide the team with "valuable flexibility," noting his experience, leadership, and character that will enable him to make an immediate impact at the club.

Konsa will wear the number 15 shirt at Arsenal, joining his new teammates immediately.
