Details of Deco's Meeting with Jorge Mendes

Deco, Barcelona's sporting director, held a meeting with agent Jorge Mendes to discuss several issues within the team, primarily the futures of Marc Casado and Gil Fernandez, alongside Alejandro Balde's situation as the summer transfer window approaches its closure.

According to "Mundo Deportivo," Mendes attended the presentation ceremony of João Cancelo as a new player for Barcelona, after arriving at the club from Milan alongside his partner Valdi Cardoso. He later met with Deco at the Torre Milena hotel.

The meeting lasted less than an hour and focused on the futures of Cascado and Gil Fernandez, who have been training away from their teammates in recent weeks to avoid injuries that could hinder their departures, as they await clarity on their destinations.

Casado has received offers from Saudi Arabia, notably from Al Hilal and Al Ahli, but he prefers to continue his career in Europe. Meanwhile, Gil Fernandez has been linked with a transfer to Newcastle in recent times.

Deco and Mendes discussed the situation of Alejandro Balde, who is attracting interest from Manchester United, especially since the arrival of Cancelo may reduce his playing time at Barcelona. The 22-year-old Spanish full-back is under contract with the Catalan club until 2028, but his position remains unclear just 11 days before the transfer window closes.
