Tottenham Keeping an Eye on Illia Zabarnyi Amid PSG Future Uncertainty
Ukrainian defender Illya Zabarnyi of Paris Saint-Germain has caught the attention of Tottenham, with the player linked to a potential departure from the French club during the current summer transfer window.
According to "TEAMtalk", Tottenham continues to keep an eye on Zabarni's situation, but has not yet taken any official steps to sign him, despite having previously attempted to acquire the Ukrainian defender in a past transfer window.
Zabarnyi joined Paris Saint-Germain last summer for £57 million and has shown good performances with the team in Ligue 1, but he has faced difficulties in securing regular opportunities in European competitions.
Tottenham is seeking to bolster its defensive options, especially after the departure of Cristian Romero. The club has already enhanced its squad by signing Marcos Senesi and Jan Paul van Hecke, but the club's stance on making a formal offer for Mykola Zabarni remains unclear.
Tottenham may face difficulty in convincing the player to transfer, as it is expected that Mickey van de Ven and Van Hecke will be the primary options in central defense, which could impact Zabarni's chances of regular participation.
The Ukrainian defender is also linked with interest from Chelsea and Liverpool, but the former has signed Lacroix, while the latter has brought in Ronald Araújo from Barcelona on loan. Currently, Tottenham is the only English club interested in Zabarni, with expectations that the deal will be costly.
