Al Ahli's Negotiations with Richard Rios: The Truth

Reports have clarified the speculation surrounding Al Ahli Saudi's potential signing of Colombian midfielder Richard Rios from Benfica during the current summer transfer window.

Italian journalist Gianluca Longari has confirmed that there are no negotiations between Al Ahly and Benfica regarding the player, denying reports that the Saudi club is moving to sign him.

Longari explained via his account on the platform 'X': "Despite the circulating reports, there are no communications between Al Ahly and Benfica regarding Richard Rios."

Meanwhile, the Colombian midfielder is attracting widespread European interest, having become one of the standout names strongly linked with several clubs during the current transfer market.

Newcastle United and Bournemouth from England are among the clubs interested in the services of Reus, along with Italian side AC Milan and Spanish club Atletico Madrid, following the performances the player has delivered recently.

Marco Reus has joined Benfica in July 2024, arriving from Brazilian side Palmeiras. He has signed a contract with the Portuguese club that runs until 2030.

Currently, the competition for Rios appears to be primarily European, while there are no confirmed indications of Al Ahly entering into official negotiations with Benfica for the player.
