Hellas Verona Rejects Marseille's Bid for Rachid Ghezzal

Hellas Verona's management has rejected the first offer made by French club Olympique Marseille to sign Algerian international Rafiq Belghali during the current transfer window.

Belghali is 24 years old and is under contract with Hellas Verona until the summer of 2029. However, the team's recent relegation to the Italian second division does not encourage the Algerian defender to continue his journey with the club.

Marseille's management has officially moved to secure the services of the player, but their first offer was not approved by Hellas Verona, who insists on receiving a suitable financial compensation for parting with their defender.

According to the Italian website 'Tutto Mercato', the financial value of the offer made by the French club has not been disclosed, but Hellas Verona has set a minimum of €15 million for the departure of Bahlouli.

Olympique Marseille officials are expected to return with a new offer in the coming period, in an attempt to convince the Italian club to part with the Algerian player.

Marseille currently features two Algerian internationals in their ranks: forward Amine Gouiri and attacking midfielder Hamd Abdelli, both linked to contracts with the French club until the summers of 2029 and 2030, respectively.

Belghali's future remains open to several possibilities, awaiting the new offer from Marseille and how willing Hellas Verona is to change their position regarding the player.
