Reports have emerged that Leicester City is up for sale by its Thai owners, the King Power Group, who have begun concrete steps to explore the possibility of selling the club after years of declining sporting and financial results.

According to the latest reports, the club owners are asking for around £222 million, which is approximately €256 million, for the asset portfolio that includes the club and several associated assets. In contrast, estimates suggest that the deal may ultimately be finalized for an amount closer to £148 million.

These developments come at a time when Leicester City is going through one of its most challenging phases, having been relegated to the English League One, finding itself in the third tier for the first time since 2008, alongside suffering significant financial losses in recent years.

King Power Group acquired Leicester City in 2010, before the club experienced one of the greatest stories in English football by winning the Premier League title in 2016. However, their trajectory has significantly declined in recent years.

The search for potential investors is expected to continue in the coming period, with anticipation surrounding whether the Thai owners will be able to find a buyer willing to meet their financial demands.
