Cagliari Signs Daniel Maldini from Atalanta

Cagliari has announced the signing of Italian forward Daniel Maldini from Atalanta during the current summer transfer window, in a move aimed at strengthening the team's attacking line in preparation for the new season.

The deal includes Maldini's loan to Cagliari for €1 million, with an option to purchase for €8 million, plus an additional €1 million in performance-related bonuses and incentives.

Under the agreement, Paolo Maldini's contract with Cagliari extends until 2031 in a '1+4' format, with the option to turn the purchase into a binding commitment if a set of conditions agreed upon by both clubs is met.

Cagliari hopes that the addition of Maldini will provide a significant offensive boost to the team, especially since the player has extensive experience in Serie A, having previously represented several clubs before moving to Atalanta.

The signing of Maldini comes as part of Cagliari's efforts to bolster their squad ahead of the 2026-2027 season, as the team prepares to kick off their Serie A campaign against Parma on August 22.
