Cristian Romero, Tottenham's captain, has expressed his openness to a move to Arsenal this summer, but his club is not willing to sell the Argentine defender to their rivals, according to The Sun.

The newspaper reported that 28-year-old Romero is ready to leave Tottenham after five seasons, with Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, and Inter Milan interested in signing him.

Romero's move to Arsenal is expected to be controversial, especially since Sol Campbell was the last player to transfer directly between the two clubs when he left for Arsenal in 2001.

The Sun reported that a high-ranking source within Tottenham has stated that the club is not considering selling Cristian Romero to Arsenal, despite the player's wish to seek a new experience.

Cristian Romero is expected to depart Tottenham before the end of the transfer window, following the club's signing of Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton for £52 million.

Atletico Madrid appears to be the closest destination for Romero, given Diego Simeone's interest in him and the Spanish club's readiness to make a £40 million offer, while Inter Milan remains interested in the player.
