Bournemouth has officially signed Spanish right-back Juanlo Sánchez from Sevilla, making him the latest addition to the squad as they prepare for the 2026-2027 season.

Juanlo is 22 years old and has over 100 appearances with Sevilla's first team. He has also played 6 matches in the UEFA Champions League and participated in the UEFA Super Cup against Manchester City following his team's triumph in the Europa League for the 2022-2023 season.

The Spanish player achieved a remarkable international milestone in 2024, when he won the gold medal with his national team at the Olympic Games held in the French capital, Paris.

Juanlu was one of the standout players for the Spanish national team on their way to the gold medal, having scored a decisive goal that led his country to a 2-1 victory over Morocco in the semi-finals, before Spain triumphed over France in the final match held at the Parc des Princes.

The final match witnessed a showdown between Juanlo and Frenchman Adrien Truffert, the Bournemouth full-back who was part of the French national team.

Thiago Pinto, Bournemouth's Director of Football Operations, stated: "Juanlo has excellent experience despite being only 22 years old, and we are very happy to have him join the squad of coach Marco Rose."

He added: "He has shown his capabilities with Sevilla on both domestic and continental levels, which is why we know his ability to compete consistently at the highest levels. He is still a young and ambitious player, and he will add more important qualities to our squad ahead of next season."

Juanlo expressed his great happiness about moving to Bournemouth, saying: "I am very happy, as is my family. We had a strong desire to come here, and I can finally say that I am a Bournemouth player."

He added: "It's a club that's very familiar to me, and I think it's a very positive place to continue developing as a football player. The city is wonderful, although I haven't seen much of it yet, and I believe it's a great place to keep growing and evolving."

He concluded his remarks by saying: "Everyone dreams of playing in the Premier League, and I believe it is the best league in the world, and we all dream of playing in it."

Juanlo is the latest addition to Bournemouth's squad during the summer transfer window, following the arrival of Portuguese defender Antonio Silva, as the club aims to strengthen its lineup in preparation for the new season.
