Zakho Officially Signs International Defender Akam Hashim

Zakho has officially finalized the signing of international defender Akam Hashim on a free transfer, following weeks of extensive negotiations with the player and Erbil FC. The defender's desire to represent the "Sons of Khabour" was clear as they head into the new season.

According to sources, the value of the deal reached 1.7 billion Iraqi dinars, with the player receiving an initial payment of 800 million dinars upon signing.

Akram Hashim enters the deal as a free agent, not tied to any other club. The club is expected to announce the signing officially in the coming hours.

Hashim has emerged as one of the top defenders in the region in recent years, and he is a regular name in the Iraqi national team lineup. He previously represented the "Lions of Mesopotamia" in the last World Cup finals.

Last season, he played with Al-Zawraa, having previously represented Al-Shorta and Erbil, leaving a clear mark in defense thanks to his physical strength and exceptional reading of the game.

Zakho's management is looking to enhance the team's defensive strength through this signing ahead of the Iraqi Premier League, especially since the presence of international player Hashim will add significant leadership and experience on the pitch.

The player is expected to start training with the team following the official announcement in preparation for participating in the early rounds of the season.
