Pakhtakor Signs International Forward Ayman Hussein
Pakhtakor Tashkent has officially announced the signing of Iraqi international forward Ayman Hussein, who will join the Uzbek side. This deal represents a significant attacking addition for the Tashkent club.
The club has released an official statement regarding recent events. In the statement, they said:
"Ayman Hussein is a player for Pakhtakor. The 30-year-old Iraqi national team forward has signed a contract that runs until the end of the season. Ayman scored the only goal for Iraq in the recent World Cup finals.
The statement continued: "Throughout his career, he played for Duhok, Al-Nafit, Al-Shorta, Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya, and Al-Karama in Iraq, as well as Sfaxien in Tunisia, Umm Salal, Al-Merikh, Al-Khor, and Al-Wakrah in Qatar, Al-Jazira in the UAE, and Raja Casablanca in Morocco."
In closing, he stated: "We hope that the experienced forward's journey with Pakhtakor will be successful and unforgettable. Welcome to Pakhtakor, Ayman."
Ayman Hussein is considered one of the cornerstones of the Iraqi national team and one of the most prominent strikers in the region in recent years, thanks to his physical strength and high scoring ability inside the penalty area.
The player has previously represented several local clubs, most notably Al-Nafit, Duhok, Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya, Al-Shorta, and Al-Karma, which was his last stop in Iraq.
On the international front, he had varied experiences with Moroccan club Raja, Tunisian side Sfaxien, and UAE's Al Jazira, as well as several Qatari clubs, before starting a new chapter in the Uzbek league with Pakhtakor.
Ayman Hussein was one of the main reasons for Iraq's qualification to the World Cup, and he made history by scoring the only goal for the "Lions of Mesopotamia" in the tournament, equaling the record set by the late Ahmed Radhi.
Pakhtakor hopes to benefit from the Iraqi striker's experience in the AFC Champions League and local competitions, especially as the team is in search of a forward capable of deciding crucial matches.
Ayman Hussein is set to join Pakhtakor's training in the coming days, preparing for his official debut in the blue team's upcoming matches in the Uzbek league.
