Barcelona Set to Loan Jofri Toure to Ajax with Buyback Clause
Young left-back Jofery Torrens is close to leaving Barcelona during the summer transfer window, as Ajax Amsterdam has entered advanced negotiations to secure his services on loan, aiming to provide him with regular playing time and gain more experience with the first team. Mundo Deportivo confirmed that the Catalan club prefers to loan the player to accelerate his development.
According to reports, the deal includes a €5 million buy option for a percentage of the player's rights, with Barcelona retaining the right to buy back in the future. This move reflects the club's confidence in the potential of one of La Masia's brightest talents and its desire not to lose control over his future.
Torres' future is also tied to the decision of head coach Hans Flick, who will determine the player's final status in the coming days. The coaching staff is evaluating all young players before making a final decision on whether to keep them or send them out on loan.
If the deal is completed, Torrens will become the second player to move from Barcelona to Ajax this summer, following the imminent transfer of goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen to the Dutch club. However, neither club has officially announced the completion of the Torrens deal yet, and negotiations are still ongoing to finalize the details.
