Revealed: The Reason Behind Salah's Negotiation Crisis with Besiktas

Turkish newspaper Sabah revealed today, Tuesday, that negotiations between Besiktas and Egyptian star Mohamed Salah have encountered a hurdle regarding the rights to sell official merchandise.

According to the report, the two parties have reached a preliminary agreement on the salary, with Besiktas offering Salah a contract worth around €20 million including bonuses.

The report indicated that the player's agent, Rami Abbas, initially requested a commission of €7.5 million before lowering it to €5 million.

The report states that Salah's representatives are demanding 50% of Besiktas' share from all merchandise sales related to the player in Turkey, as well as the full profits from sales in Egypt. This could potentially make the financial return from these rights equivalent to his annual salary if the expected targets are met.
