Eric Garcia: It's No Coincidence... My Next Goal is the Champions League

Barcelona and Spain defender Eric Garcia confirmed that Spain's World Cup triumph was the result of significant teamwork, praising his teammate Ferran Torres, who scored the winning goal in the final, and emphasizing that his success was not a matter of chance.

García stated in an interview with COPE during his summer holiday: "Ferran and I are used to dealing with pressure, and we worked a lot on the mental side. In the end, it's no coincidence that he was the one who scored the goal that gave us the World Cup."

The 25-year-old defender spoke about his first participation in the championship, which came in the final, explaining that he had been ready throughout the tournament to seize his opportunity whenever it arose.

He added: "I was ready all month for any opportunity, and in the end, it came in the final match. We were all ready to help the team whether we played or not, and I always assured the coach that I was ready."

Garcia pointed out that the Spain national team began to feel the possibility of winning the title after Enzo Fernandez was sent off, followed by the substitution of Julian Alvarez for an additional defender in the opponent's lineup, which gave "La Roja" an advantage during the match.

Discussing his ambitions with Barcelona for the new season, Garcia confirmed that his next dream is to lift the Champions League trophy with the Catalan club, stating: "I can't complain about the titles I've won so far, but every player always wants to win more. My next goal is to win the Champions League with Barcelona."

Eric Garcia is set to return to Barcelona training on August 12, preparing for the start of the new season.
