Arsenal Explores Signing Vinicius

The Athletic has revealed that Arsenal is exploring the possibility of signing Brazilian star Vinicius Junior if they fail to reach an agreement with Real Madrid regarding a contract extension.

According to the report, Vinicius, aged 26, is one of the standout names on the table for the Premier League champions to enhance their attacking line. However, the interest is still in its early stages, and there are no guarantees that it will turn into a concrete deal.

The report clarified that no official negotiations have taken place yet between Arsenal and Real Madrid, but the idea of signing the player has the approval of all levels within the London club.

Vinicius's contract expires in 12 months, and negotiations for renewal with Real Madrid have seen no progress so far. The Spanish club is reluctant to lose one of its star players for free, especially since the player will be due a significant loyalty bonus next season.

The Brazilian international delivered standout performances during the World Cup this summer, participating in all five of Brazil's matches and scoring four goals, before the team was eliminated in the Round of 16 by Norway, managed by Carlo Ancelotti.

Vinicius concluded the 2025-2026 season with Real Madrid, scoring 22 goals across all competitions, while the team faced a second consecutive season without trophies, finishing as runners-up in La Liga, eight points behind Barcelona.

Vinicius joined Real Madrid from Flamengo in 2018, and since then he has played 375 matches for the club, scoring 128 goals and providing 100 assists.
