Champions League 2026/2027 Draw Date Confirmed

UEFA has announced that the draw for the group stage of the 2026-2027 Champions League will take place on Thursday, August 27, 2026, following the completion of the list of participating clubs in the tournament.

A total of 36 teams will participate in the draw, with 29 clubs qualifying directly for the league stage, alongside 7 clubs that will secure the final qualification spots through the playoff, which concludes on August 26, 2026.

The new edition will continue with the unified league system, where the 36 clubs will compete in a single phase instead of the traditional group stage, with the qualifiers for the knockout rounds determined by the final standings.

According to the new tournament system, teams finishing in positions 1-8 will qualify directly for the Round of 16, while those in positions 9-24 will play home-and-away matches to determine 8 teams that advance to the second round.

European football fans are eagerly awaiting the completion of the preliminary and playoff matches to determine the identity of the last seven clubs that will join the directly qualified teams before the draw.
