Pablo Franco: Ben Jeddah Mirrors Benzema's Playing Style

Pablo Franco, the former coach of Wydad Casablanca, spoke about Zamalek's negotiations to sign him, while also praising Al Ahly's new signing Sufyan Benjdida, stating that he resembles French star Karim Benzema in his playing style.

Franco stated in remarks to On Sport Channel: "I was not responsible for the negotiations regarding the coaching of Zamalek. The club contacted my agent, but the truth is I do not know how the negotiations ended between him and the club's management, so I cannot talk much about this matter."

He added: "I am happy to work in the Egyptian league, and I appreciate Zamalek a lot because they wanted to sign me."

He continued: "I generally knew that Zamalek was going through difficult circumstances, such as financial crises and a transfer ban. My agent was aware of all the details, but the negotiations were taking place between him and the club. I might have had other projects as well, so I don't know exactly what happened, because I wasn't the one making the decision."

Franco shifted to discussing Al Ahly's new signing, stating: "I believe that Ben Jdida's transfer to Al Ahly is a fantastic step for both parties. He is one of the best players, and Al Ahly is one of the greatest clubs on the African continent. Signing the league's top scorer will be a significant addition to the team."

The Spanish coach concluded his statements by praising the player's abilities, saying: "Ben Jadida is a top-class striker who can score from various positions, possesses great physical strength, excellent ball control, and excels in dribbling and collaborating with teammates. He also has a highly competitive mentality. He is still young and has a great opportunity to develop with Al Ahly, and I see that his style and potential are similar to Karim Benzema."
