Middlesbrough Signs Will Lankshire

Middlesbrough has officially announced the signing of English striker Will Lancaster from Tottenham Hotspur on a five-year deal, with the transfer fee undisclosed.

Lancashire is 21 years old and is considered one of the most promising young talents in England, representing the England U20 team. Middlesbrough successfully completed the deal despite interest from several clubs, making him the team's fourth signing of the current summer transfer window.

The young striker arrives after a standout season spent on loan at Oxford United, where he scored 11 goals in 43 matches and was awarded the club's Young Player of the Year, playing a key role in the team's journey last season in the EFL League One.

Lancashire stated after signing the contracts: "Middlesbrough is a big club, and I see it as part of the Premier League. The project the club is working on is very exciting for me, and I can't wait to start this journey and contribute to bringing the team back to where it belongs."

Lancashire joined Tottenham in 2022 from Sheffield United, later featuring for the first team in the Premier League and the Europa League. He also had a loan spell with West Bromwich Albion before Middlesbrough secured his permanent signing in preparation for the new season.
