Barcelona players and La Masia graduates continue to have a significant impact on Spain's achievements, having directly contributed to 17 of the 19 goals scored by the national team in the finals of their major title wins, representing an impressive 89%.

Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" reported that Ferran Torres' goal in the 2026 World Cup final against Argentina reaffirmed the historical role of Barcelona players in clinching major titles with the Spanish national team, adding to a record that includes two World Cup titles, four European Championship titles, and two Olympic gold medals.

During the eight finals that Spain has participated in from Euro 1964 to the World Cup 2026, the national team scored 19 goals, with players who wore the Barcelona jersey or graduated from the La Masia academy directly involved in 17 of them, either by scoring or assisting. This highlights the significant presence of the Catalan club in the most prominent moments of the Spanish national team.

Barcelona players or graduates of its academy have scored six goals in international finals, starting with José Pereda in Euro 1964, Andrés Iniesta in the 2010 World Cup final, Jordi Alba in the Euro 2012 final, and Fermín López, who netted two goals in the Paris 2024 Olympic final, followed by Ferran Torres, who scored the winning goal for Spain in the 2026 World Cup.

Barcelona players and La Masia graduates delivered 11 key assists in the finals, credited to the likes of Pereda, Pep Guardiola, Xavi Hernandez, Cesc Fabregas, Lamine Yamal, as well as Adrian Bernabe and Arnau Tenas, bringing their total direct contributions to 17 goals out of the 19 scored by the Spanish national team in the final matches.

The Spanish newspaper added that the influence of other clubs on the goals of the Spanish national team is less significant than that of Barcelona when considering the player's affiliation with the club at the time of the final or their development in its academy, whether for goal scorers or assist providers. This reinforces the historical status of the Catalan club in the most notable achievements of La Roja.
