The Tunisian Football Federation has refused to grant the local license to Union Sportive Monastirienne for participation in the upcoming football season, citing the failure to complete one of the administrative requirements related to the licensing file.

The Tunisian site "Nessma Sport" revealed that the reason for the refusal to grant the license is the absence of a document proving the payment of player insurance, which is one of the essential conditions for obtaining local licensing.

The same source clarified that the required financial amount is considered symbolic, and the management of Ittihad Monastir is expected to settle it as soon as possible, before resubmitting their file for official licensing.

Monastir finished the 2025-2026 Tunisian league season in fifth place, while both Esperance and Club Africain will represent Tunisian football in next season's CAF Champions League. Meanwhile, CS Sfaxien and Stade Tunisien will participate in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Obtaining a local license is a prerequisite for participation in local and continental competitions, according to the regulations set by the Tunisian Football Federation.
