Arsenal Advances in Race for Alvarez as Atletico Madrid Opens Door

Arsenal is nearing a boost to its attack with the signing of Argentine Julian Alvarez, following reports from "CaughtOffside" that Atletico Madrid has informed the player's representatives of its willingness to approve a transfer to the London club during the summer transfer window.

The report indicates that Arsenal's sporting director, Andrea Berta, has had direct conversations with Alvarez, who is open to returning to the Premier League if he decides to leave Spain.

Despite this, the Argentine striker's desire to move to Barcelona remains the biggest obstacle to completing the transfer, while Atletico Madrid prefers to sell him to a club outside of La Liga rather than support one of their local rivals.

The source added that Paris Saint-Germain had previously monitored the player's situation, but their interest did not turn into a formal offer, while the value exceeding €200 million seems unrealistic for completing the deal.

Arsenal believes that Alvarez would be an important technical addition thanks to his ability to play in several attacking positions. However, the club is unwilling to pay an excessive amount to finalize the deal.
