Real Madrid's Stance on Signing Rodri After World Cup

Rodri's name has returned to the forefront of Real Madrid fans' interests during the summer transfer window, amid reports linking the Manchester City midfielder with a move to Santiago Bernabéu after the World Cup. However, media reports remain divided regarding the royal club's stance on the deal.

Journalist Sergio Valentin has indicated that Real Madrid is studying the possibility of signing Rodri after the tournament, in a deal that could reach around €50 million, benefiting from the player's lack of strong opposition to the idea of wearing the white shirt.

Meanwhile, both "The Athletic" and "OK Diario" have confirmed that Real Madrid's management does not include Rodri in their current plans. In fact, club officials are not keen on continuing to link the team with a move for the Manchester City player, despite having supporters of the idea within the club and even in the dressing room.

According to "OK Diario," Real Madrid values the technical and personal qualities that Rodri possesses, but coach José Mourinho has not requested to sign him, despite his desire to strengthen the midfield. The Spanish player's name was not among the options presented by the coach to the management.

The report clarified that Rodri's level of performance in the World Cup has not altered Real Madrid's position so far, keeping the player's future tied to the developments following the tournament's conclusion, amid ongoing conflicting narratives regarding the transfer.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid is sticking to a clear policy in the transfer market, as they will not sign a new midfielder before one of the players in that position departs, specifically Eduardo Camavinga. Currently, there are no indications of any player wanting to leave the ranks of the royal team.
