Official: Al Ahly Signs Portuguese Francisco Trincão

Al Ahly has finalized the signing of Portuguese winger Francisco Trincão from Sporting Lisbon, officially announcing the player's addition to bolster their squad during the current summer transfer window. According to the Portuguese newspaper "A Bola", the transfer fee for the player is around €45 million, which includes a fixed amount and additional incentives tied to easily achievable clauses. Trincão has signed a contract that extends for four seasons with Al Ahly, with an annual salary ranging between €10 million and €12.5 million, making him one of the highest earners in the team. The completion of the deal was delayed in the past period as the player awaited an offer from one of the Premier League clubs, but he decided to move to Al Ahly after no official offer from England materialized. The 26-year-old player leaves Sporting Lisbon after a successful career, having played 208 matches, scored 47 goals, and provided 51 assists across various competitions. The Portuguese winger contributed to Sporting's Portuguese league title victories in the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 seasons, in addition to winning the Taça de Portugal. Trincão delivered his best numbers last season, scoring 13 goals and assisting 15 others in 54 official matches, confirming his significant attacking value. On the international stage, his participation with the Portuguese national team in the recent World Cup was limited to 26 minutes, finishing the tournament without a substantial opportunity.
