Sibari Arrives in Munich Ahead of Official Announcement
Moroccan international Ismail Sabiri has taken his first steps with Bayern Munich, arriving this Wednesday morning in the German city, in preparation for the official announcement of his transfer to the Bavarian club from PSV Eindhoven for a fee of around €50 million.
German media reported the arrival of the Moroccan national team player at "Oberpfaffenhofen" private airport, located west of Munich, where he landed on a private jet coming from Belgium, accompanied by several family members and his agent.
Sibari was received by Bayern Munich officials, led by team director Soni Scherer, along with members of the club's media staff, who documented the moment of the player's arrival in preparation for the official announcement of the deal.
The German club is expected to hold a welcoming ceremony for their new Moroccan signing in the coming hours, after he signed a contract extending until the summer of 2031. This announcement comes as he participates with the Moroccan national team in the 2026 World Cup, according to the German newspaper "Bild."
Sabiri's arrival in Munich comes just five days before Bayern Munich's pre-season preparations are set to start on July 20. The exact date of his integration into team training has yet to be confirmed.
The "Atlas Lions" player sustained a thigh injury during Morocco's Round of 16 clash against Canada, which forced him to leave the match early. This injury also ruled him out of the quarter-final encounter against France.
No official medical report has been released yet to determine the length of Sabiri's absence, as he is expected to undergo a series of precise examinations under the supervision of Bayern Munich's medical staff to assess his health condition and establish a return date to the pitch.
