Oyarzabal: The atmosphere in the national team is exceptional, it's unbelievable

Spanish forward Mikel Oyarzabal expressed his immense happiness after scoring a new goal and contributing to his national team's advancement to the 2026 World Cup final, following a 2-0 victory over France.

Mikel Oyarzabal expressed in a press statement: "It’s unbelievable and a huge source of excitement. When you’re young and watching the World Cup, traveling with your family as I did, you never imagine you’ll reach the place I am today."

Discussing the match dynamics, he explained: "We knew the encounter would be complicated, as France is very dangerous when they find space in front of them. We also knew we would dominate possession, and with patience, we would be able to create chances, and that’s exactly what happened."

Real Sociedad's striker added: "We are only focusing on our work and enjoying this moment. For us, this is a dream, and now we have to rest as much as possible because only one match separates us from the title."

Reflecting on his physical condition, he said: "I am fine, there is some fatigue due to the match atmosphere, but I am very happy and proud of the group and the unity that brings us together. It’s about all 26 players; staying together for 50 days is not easy if the atmosphere isn’t good, but the atmosphere of this team is exceptional."
