Chelsea Pushes to Secure Maxence Lacroix Deal
Chelsea continues its efforts to sign French defender Maxence Lacroix from Crystal Palace as part of its strategy to strengthen the defense during the summer transfer window.
According to "CaughtOffside," discussions between Chelsea and Crystal Palace regarding the transfer are ongoing, with the London club striving to reach an agreement, although negotiations may take some time due to Crystal Palace's insistence on not selling their stars unless a suitable offer is made.
The report also noted that "L'Équipe" had previously indicated that an agreement worth €55 million, approximately £47 million, for the French defender's move to Chelsea was close.
Furthermore, Chelsea is intensifying its efforts to finalize the deal, although its completion may depend on Crystal Palace successfully signing a replacement for Lacroix before agreeing to his departure.
The same source believes that Lacroix represents the solution Chelsea needs to bolster its defense, given the team's struggles with stability in that position.
The report also mentioned that Liverpool had previously shown interest in signing Lacroix, but Chelsea remains the club most closely linked to the French defender as negotiations continue to finalize the deal.
