Jordanian Clubs Eye Iraqi Star Ayman Hussein
Ayman Hussein, the Iraqi national team's forward, is meticulously weighing his professional options following the end of his contract with Al-Karma. Despite receiving several offers recently, he has yet to finalize his next destination.
Hussein is regarded as one of the top strikers in the Arab world and played a significant role in the victories of the Iraqi national team, contributing directly to their qualification for the 2026 World Cup.
Although he has never played in the Jordanian league, the competitive nature of the upcoming season could make a move there an attractive option for him, especially given his popularity among Jordanian fans.
Despite the secrecy surrounding the transfer activities of Al-Faisaly and Al-Hussein Irbid due to their fierce rivalry, leaks have confirmed both clubs' interest in signing the Iraqi striker.
Both teams are in urgent need of a prolific striker capable of converting chances into goals, particularly given the scarcity of standout local forwards. Therefore, signing Ayman Hussein would provide a significant boost for either club.
Al-Faisaly and Al-Hussein Irbid have the financial capacity to negotiate with the player. Moving to Jordan could be suitable for Hussein for several reasons, including the proximity to Iraq, ease of integration, and his previous visit to the kingdom where he spent a holiday and developed good relationships with several Jordanian national team players.
Close sources have confirmed that the Iraqi striker has received offers from within Iraq, notably from Zakho and Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya. He is also awaiting an unofficial offer from Egyptian club Al-Ahly.
As of now, Ayman has not made any final decision regarding his future and prefers to take his time before concluding matters.
Al-Faisaly and Al-Hussein Irbid are eager to resolve the striker situation as quickly as possible, as both teams are preparing to participate in Asian competitions and need to finalize their squads during the preparation period.
If Ayman Hussein declines the Jordanian offers, both clubs have other names in mind, but the priority remains with the Iraqi national star due to his scoring experience and technical prowess.
