Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo has stated, ahead of the Round of 16 clash against Spain in the 2026 World Cup, that he sees continuing to play at 41 years old as a beautiful and unique experience, noting that reaching this level at this age requires significant sacrifices.

Ronaldo said: "I believe that playing at 41 is a wonderful experience because reaching this level requires you to make sacrifices and give up many things, and I have done that throughout my career."

The Portugal captain added that he has successfully adapted to the changes that come with aging, explaining: "I have adjusted to the changes and details that come with age, and I realize that I am no longer the same player I was before, so I have worked to adapt myself to this reality."

Ronaldo is preparing to lead Portugal in a highly anticipated match against Spain, as he aims to continue his quest for his first World Cup title.
