Mikel Oyarzabal, the Spanish national team's forward, expressed his happiness after leading his country to victory over Austria and advancing to the Round of 16 in the 2026 World Cup, emphasizing that the main goal was to continue the journey in the tournament.
Oyarzabal said after the match: "I am very happy because I was able to help the team, and the most important thing is that we have advanced to a new round. Now our focus is on the next challenge."
He added about the match: "We knew it would be a complicated game because the Austrian team has great physical strength, but we delivered an outstanding performance and deserved the win."
He continued: "We had played well in previous matches, and today we maintained that same level. We are happy to advance and want to continue in the tournament."
Regarding the identity of the next opponent, whether Portugal or Croatia, he concluded his remarks by saying: "I don't care who we face; we will approach the match to win, regardless of the opponent. I have a teammate in each team, but our focus will be on advancing to the next round."
