Real Madrid Sets First Friendly Match in Preparation for the New Season
Real Madrid will start its preparations for the new season on July 13 at the Valdebebas city, marking the official start for Portuguese José Mourinho in his new position as the team's head coach. The club will play a friendly match against Fiorentina in Austria at the beginning of August.
The Italian newspaper 'Corriere dello Sport' reported that Mourinho will not be able to rely on all his players during the early days of the preparation period, due to the continued participation of some in the World Cup or their previous participation in the tournament.
The newspaper added that Real Madrid does not plan to conduct an overseas tour during the preparation period for the new season, as it will suffice with conducting its training at Valdebebas, along with playing a number of friendly matches within Spain, including a potential match in the Teresa Herrera tournament, in addition to other matches within Europe.
The same source explained that one of these matches will bring Real Madrid together with Fiorentina, and it will be held in the Austrian city of Klagenfurt on August 1, as part of the team's preparatory program for the new season.
