Nico Williams Collapses After Injury and Attacks De La Cruz: This is One of the Worst Days of My Life

Spanish national team player Nico Williams expressed his great shock after sustaining a new injury during Spain's match against Uruguay in the World Cup. He confirmed that this happened after a long period of struggling with recurring injuries and that he was trying to return to his best form before this new setback.

Nico Williams posted his full message on his accounts, which read as follows: "Today is one of the worst days of my life. I am injured again after a very complicated year, during which pubalgia won many battles against me, but not the war. I managed to overcome it through work and sacrifice, and above all, with responsibility."

He added: "It was a year and a half of suffering, sadness, uncertainty, and anxiety. I didn't know when I would be able to play without pain or when I would regain my normal life. I reached a point where I had to live with the pain in simple things like going to the bathroom, getting in and out of the car, or even enjoying daily life."

He continued: "Returning to the joy of playing football was my top priority, along with regaining my smile, because without a smile and without enjoyment, I cannot perform at my best level."

He continued: "I overcame that, then came an injury to the hamstring that tested me once again. Once more, I lost my smile, but I did not stop."

He continued: "Yesterday, I sustained a new injury after an intervention in a play where a fellow professional acted out of frustration and sadness due to his situation. In my opinion, it was a play that could have been avoided because it was completely unnecessary."

He added: "But this also won't stop me. I know that God has a plan for me, and I will keep fighting until the last moment to return to what I love: playing football, being happy, and bringing a lot of joy."

The Spanish player pointed out that the tackle which caused his injury could have been avoided, directing criticism at the Uruguayan player Nicolas De La Cruz, considering that the incident was unnecessary and directly led to his injury.

Nevertheless, Nico Williams emphasized that he will not give up, affirming his determination to quickly return and participate again with the Spanish national team in the World Cup, and to continue his football career despite the difficulties he is facing.
