Mark Cucurella, the Spanish national team player, spoke in a press statement after the 1-0 victory over the Uruguayan team in the third round of the group stage of the World Cup.

The player said: "It was a big match. We maintained our style. At times, we had to suffer because they were playing for qualification. Today, we weren't as fluid as we wanted to be when in possession of the ball, but there are matches that require more fighting."

He added about the ability to compete: "We have proven that repeatedly; we are capable of playing in more than one style, and this is one of the main strengths of this team. I believe we deserved the win."

Regarding the referee: "He tried to manage the match in the best possible way, but he was too lenient."

"Regarding the competition in the next round, whether it's Austria or Algeria, we will wait and see."

He concluded about the match: "They were fighting for survival and needed the win. There are different types of matches, and today we had to fight more. We proved that we also know how to play this way. We maintained our composure and knew what we had to do at every moment, and in the end, we deserved this victory."
