Iran's Coach: Egypt Cannot Be Compared to Belgium
The head coach of the Iranian national team, Amir Ghalenoei, refused to compare the Egyptian team with the Belgian team they faced in the previous round, ahead of the anticipated match between the Pharaohs and Iran in the 2026 World Cup.
The Iranian national team will face its counterpart, the Egyptian national team, tomorrow morning, Saturday, in the third round of the group stage of the 2026 World Cup.
Amir Ghalenoei said in statements reported by "beIN Sports": "Every match is different from the other, and it is not correct to compare between matches."
The Iranian coach added: "We analyze the performance of the Egyptian national team in one way, while we analyzed the Belgian team differently, and we changed our playing style according to whom we face."
He continued: "We cannot compare Egypt to Belgium because we are talking about different tactics. We also didn't have enough time to recover from the last match, but we will try to recover mentally and physically to prepare ourselves for facing Egypt. We will try to deliver the same quality we showed in the last two matches."
Regarding the potential events during the match, he said: "We are here to play football, nothing else, and our full focus will be on the match against Egypt and achieving success in it."
