Arsenal has announced on its official website the activation of the purchase clause for Ecuadorian defender Piero Hincapié from Bayer Leverkusen, allowing him to continue his journey with the team permanently starting from July 1st.
This step comes after Hincapié's successful season with Arsenal on loan, where he participated in 39 matches across various competitions and contributed to the team's Premier League title win.
The club noted that the 24-year-old player has become a key element in the defensive system and scored his only goal for Arsenal during the match against Wolverhampton in February 2026.
Hincapié possesses significant experience both domestically and internationally, having played 166 matches with Bayer Leverkusen and contributed to their Bundesliga title in the 2023/2024 season, alongside representing the Ecuador national team in 54 international matches.
