Klopp: Germany is a Contender to Win the World Cup, and Ancelotti is the Perfect Coach for Brazil

The German Jürgen Klopp appeared in statements to the Italian newspaper "La Gazzetta dello Sport," where he talked about various topics, including the World Cup and the possibility of his return to coaching.

He closely follows the 2026 World Cup in Mexico, Canada, and the United States as a special observer in his role as the head of global football at Red Bull.

Klopp said: "I left Mexico and it was amazing. I went to the stadium six hours before the match started, and there was a continuous line of fans starting from the city center. The enthusiasm was immense and contagious, and the atmosphere was unique. Then in Dallas and Houston, it was similar, perhaps slightly less so, but the atmosphere was exceptional wherever I went."

Regarding the technical level of the tournament, he added: "In every match, there is a showcase of quality, which wasn't always the case in the World Cup. Previously, there were tactical issues or result-related matters that limited the development of play. Now, I see a strong desire to impose style, play, and score."

He emphasized: "As a former coach, I've said it before and I'll say it again, there are too many matches for the players. For the best players, there's a lot of football. But when I'm here and I see these teams full of color, joy, and excitement, giving their all, and I think of Curaçao, Cape Verde, and Haiti, I say: how wonderful. That's when I take the professional side out of my head and enjoy the show."

Regarding the top contenders for the title: "The contender? Germany. So far, they have achieved a major victory followed by another win, and most importantly, the changes are working. This is where teams are built and championships are decided."

He continued, "I believe that all the major teams will reach the quarter-finals because they will impose their quality, along with some teams that have raised their level to match the big teams. I mention two teams: Norway, which has an exceptional generation and team, and Japan."

He concluded about the Brazilian national team led by Carlo Ancelotti: "If I were Brazilian and asked about the ideal coach for the national team, I wouldn't hesitate to choose Carlo. He can manage any team with just a raise of his eyebrow. Brazil has immense potential, but someone needs to showcase it. They lack some tactical discipline, and there's no one better than Carlo to help them develop. Carlo is amazing, and the Brazilians are lucky to have him."
