Al-Sibari: Our Mistakes Against Haiti May Cost Us Dearly Against the Big Teams

The Moroccan international Ismail Saibari confirmed that the Moroccan national team achieved its main goal by securing a spot in the round of 32 of the 2026 World Cup, following a 4-2 victory over Haiti. He emphasized the need to address some mistakes before entering the knockout stages.

Sibari explained, in statements following the match, that the World Cup competitions do not acknowledge easy encounters or differences in names, while also praising the performance of the Haitian team during the match.

The "Atlas Lions" star said: "World Cup matches are always tough, and even against the Haiti team, we saw a fierce competitor who gave everything on the field."

He added: "We gave them the opportunity to get into the match through the two goals they scored. These things should not be repeated against major teams, as the punishment will be much harsher in the upcoming rounds."

He continued: "Thank God, we showed a good reaction, came back in the match, and managed to score during the second half before securing the win in the end."

He explained: "If you want to go far in the World Cup, you must focus on yourself first and on what you can offer on the field. The most important thing is good preparation and confidence in your abilities, not thinking too much about other teams."
