Budimir Breaks Historical Record with Croatia in the World Cup

Croatian striker Ante Budimir achieved a new historical record during his national team's match against Panama in the second round of the group stage in the 2026 World Cup, according to Opta statistics.

Budimir's goal came in the 54th minute of the match, which currently stands at 1-0 in favor of Croatia, giving his team the advantage in the second half.

According to Opta statistics, Budimir, at the age of 34 years and 337 days, became the oldest goalscorer in Croatia's World Cup history, surpassing the previous record held by Ivica Olic, who scored against Cameroon in the 2014 World Cup at 34 years and 277 days.

This goal places Budimir at the top of the historical list for the Croatian national team in World Cup history in terms of goalscorer's age, adding a new achievement to his international career.
