Exciting Draw Decides Uruguay vs Cape Verde Match

The match between the Uruguay national team and the Cape Verde national team ended in a 2-2 draw, as part of the second round of group stage competitions in the 2026 World Cup, in a game that witnessed changes in the score throughout both halves of the match.

Cape Verde opened the scoring in the 21st minute through Kevin Lenini, before Uruguay managed to equalize in the 44th minute with a goal by Maximiliano Araujo.

Just before the end of the first half, Uruguay succeeded in scoring the second goal through Agustin Canobbio in the 45+6 minute, ending the first half leading 2-1.

In the second half, Cape Verde came back to equalize in the 61st minute through Helio Varela, securing a 2-2 draw in the match.

With this draw, Uruguay raised its tally to two points to occupy second place in the standings of Group H, while Cape Verde also reached two points to come in third place.
